Coldwater Archery is not just a dream of a married couple. My wife (Carrie) and myself (Kyle) came to a realization in February of 2026. The realization was that we have found a sport and hobby that brought us closer. We had just recently became empty nesters and was looking for something to do not just as a couple, but as best friends. I was shooting one day and Carrie was watching me. She stopped and said “That looks very calming, almost like you are at piece when you pull the string back.” I didn’t hesitate. I immediately rented her a cheap Genesis bow with no sights or any type of equipment. She instantly was hitting very tight groups. We got her to aim and then it was bullseye after bullseye. I knew then it was time for her join my addiction. I bought her a Bowtech Amplify that same day.

Fast forward a year or so and many new bows, and we still shoot every weekend together. We truly enjoy the 3d shoots and the competitions. (I’ll be honest here, I find myself mostly trying to beat her.) We now have kids and grand kids joining us in many of these shoots. We have also met and made a great number of friends that share our passion and look forward to meeting many, many more.

We opened Coldwater Archery as a way for us to give back to the community and hopefully keep growing. We strive to make friends over customers and if it is in cards keep going for long into our golden years.

To sum it all up we’ve found a love for each other and for archery that we can’t wait to share with you.
